Emirates is doubling premium economy offer to Australia
Added on Thu February 1st, 2024
Almost a year after the debut of premium economy cabins on the daily Melbourne-Dubai routes for flights EK406 and EK407, Emirates will double the Premium Economy offering from February 1st, extending the premium service to flights EK408 and EK409 on the same route.
This expansion will result in nearly 800 weekly premium cabin seats.
This decision is part of Emirates’ retrofit program, where 126 aircraft, including A380s and Boeing 777s, will be equipped with premium cabins to provide a wider choice and greater connectivity for its customers.
Emirates’ Premium Economy cabin offers an exclusive comfort experience with cream-colored leather seats, ample legroom, a wide recline range, padded and elevated footrests, spacious cushions, sustainable blankets, adjustable headrests, a greater recline angle, wood trimmings, generous baggage allowance, and exceptional culinary offerings.
Meals are served on Royal Doulton porcelain dishes with high-quality steel cutlery, and an exclusive team is dedicated to in-flight meal service. After the meal, the polished table folds away completely, and side tables are available for placing drinks.
The airline now serves Australia with almost 3,200 weekly seats, including two daily services from Sydney and two daily services from Melbourne.
Barry Brown, Divisional Vice President Australasia at Emirates, emphasizes the airline’s commitment to providing greater connectivity and choice to Australian passengers.
He is confident that the additional Premium Economy service in Melbourne will offer more customers the opportunity to experience the exclusive premium products.
On a four-class Emirates A380 from Melbourne or Sydney, the Premium Economy cabin is located at the front of the main deck, with 56 seats arranged in a 2-4-2 configuration. This allows passengers to disembark first after landing. Currently, 22 of Emirates’ A380s have been equipped with premium cabins on the following routes: Auckland (AKL), Bangalore (BLR), Christchurch (CHC), Houston (IAH), London Heathrow (LHR), Los Angeles (LAX), Melbourne (MEL), Mumbai (BOM), New York John F. Kennedy (JFK), San Francisco (SFO), Sao Paulo (GRU), Singapore (SIN), Sydney (SYD), Tokyo Narita (NRT).
