AeroItalia: first flight in March
Added on Tue February 15th, 2022
AeroItalia is the new Italian airline company and its first flight is planned for March. This is what CEO Francesco Gaetano Intrieri declared.
The aim is not to compete with the newborn Ita, but to create an alliance. The heart of this project is to focus on human resources. The selections will be carried out using meritocratic methods, giving priority above all to the so-called weak categories, as people in an obvious state of need because they are single-income earners, single with dependent children, or have been in temporary employment for years.
However, this will not have an impact on skills requested from the sector. By 2023, up to 2,500 resources are expected to be hired with contracts in line with the market, respecting professionalism. Priority will be given to those coming from the South of Italy, which is the most disadvantaged, as Intrieri primarily wants to help the land of his origins (he comes from Calabria).
AeroItalia has been conceived as a low cost company only because of the particular attention that will be paid to operating costs. The routes will be long-haul, mainly to South America, with a total investment of 100 million euros over the next year and a half. Numbers that certainly do not concern a small airline, even if there is still secrecy about the type of aircraft, but it is known with certainty that the shareholders are important entities, including German Efromovich, former owner of Avianca, who is a full member of the Board of Directors.
