Boeing 777: the new business class experience from Cathay Pacific
Added on Mon October 21st, 2024
Cathay Pacific has just held an event to showcase the details of its new cabin on the Boeing 777-300ER, previously announced in March.
The new product, called Aria Suite, stands out for its comfort and practicality. Spacious, fully reclining beds with customizable individual lighting; expandable tables, smart storage, and high-speed wireless charging ports; closed storage compartments, reduced noise, and improved cabin pressure levels ensure restful sleep at high altitude, allowing passengers to arrive without fatigue.
The configuration is a 1-2-1 herringbone layout. The enveloping, fully reclining seats are equipped with advanced technology that adjusts the seat position and features a sliding partition for privacy, whether for work or relaxation.
Among the onboard technologies, there are 24” 4K screens in fixed positions with Bluetooth connectivity, allowing passengers to monitor restroom availability and synchronize in-flight entertainment with their travel companion. The new interface also makes it easy to browse programming titles, check meal times, and dim the screen to reduce eye strain.
A touch of refinement is also present in the onboard menus, which feature international cuisine and modern plant-based dishes from the best restaurants in Hong Kong, along with fine wines, champagne, and Betsy beer.
Another notable highlight is the 400-thread-count bedding with soft pillows for perfect rest during the flight, along with slippers and eye masks.
Currently, the three cabins of the 777-300ER accommodate 368 seats, including 40 in business class, 32 in premium economy, and 296 in economy. Once reconfigured, the three 777-300ER cabins will have 361 seats, including 45 in business class, 48 in premium economy, and 268 in economy. This change will add five seats in business class and sixteen in premium economy!
The airline has scheduled the reconfigured jet to fly from Hong Kong (HKG) to Beijing (PEK) between October 18 and October 31, 2024, with plans for the aircraft to soon operate on other short-haul routes in Asia, including selected flights to Shanghai (PVG), Singapore (SIN), Taipei (TPE), and Tokyo (HND).
