Condor, the German airline, has selected Recaro Aircraft Seating, a global leader in aircraft seat manufacturing, for the economy class of its new Airbus fleet. The order of nearly 9,000 seats, including BL3710 and SL3710 models, will be delivered between 2024 and 2028 to provide greater comfort and functionality.
Christian Schmitt, COO of Condor, stated that the partnership aims to enhance the flying experience and promote sustainable design on short and medium-haul flights. Indeed, the common spare parts for the BL3710 and SL3710 models help reduce maintenance costs for the airline. Furthermore, the lightweight seats offer fuel-saving opportunities and align with both Condor’s and Recaro’s sustainability commitments.
The award-winning BL3710 seat will feature individual USB power, a more ergonomic seat bottom, an adaptable tray table, elongated armrests, and a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) holder to ensure a better onboard entertainment experience. The lightweight SL3710 model focuses on ergonomic offerings suitable for all body types, in addition to individual USB access at each seat and an integrated cup holder, all mounted on an eight-kilogram frame.
Founded in 1956, Condor is headquartered near Frankfurt Airport, currently operating a fleet of over 50 aircraft and serving 90 destinations worldwide.
