Emirates Expands Premium Economy on the Airbus A350-900

Emirates has announced a new cabin configuration for its Airbus A350-900, which will be introduced into its fleet by the end of 2025.
The new cabin configuration on Emirates’ Airbus A350-900 has some interesting features:
- Business Class: The 32 business class seats are arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, with fully reclining flatbed seats. Each passenger has direct aisle access, thanks to the staggered seating arrangement. The business class occupies all the space between the aircraft’s first and second doors.
- Premium Economy: The 28 premium economy seats are arranged in three rows with a 2-3-2 configuration. Each seat offers a generous 40-inch pitch, 19.5-inch width, and 8 inches of recline. The premium economy configuration is similar to that of Emirates’ Boeing 777s, which have a denser arrangement.
- Economy Class: The economy class has 238 seats arranged in a 3-3-3 configuration for most of the aircraft, but it reduces to a 2-3-2 layout in row 33, near the third door. This layout provides flexibility while maintaining comfort for passengers.
The new configuration will initially be introduced on daily flights between Dubai and Bahrain from October 25, and then it will be used on flights to Mumbai from December 2. The main focus of the new layout is on premium economy, which has been very successful for Emirates. Currently, the airline has received three Airbus A350-900s, with 62 more on order, and the aircraft began its service in November 2024.
