How to be sustainable when you travel by plane

Be sustainable when you travel by plane. Is it possible?
Reducing waste during airplane travel is the least you can do after choosing a not-so-sustainable mode of travelling. So, how do you achieve that? Consious Life and Style give us some advice.
First of all, choose a flight that is as direct as possible and a fuel-efficient airline (not all airlines are created equal).
Then, choose pick coach instead of first-class, an eco-friendly and budget option. According to a World Bank study, a person flying in business class contributes up to 4 times the carbon emissions as someone in coach. The extra emission comes from a combination of factors: first class seats take up more space and add more weight, business class flyers receive numerous on-board services, and they require more staff than a person sitting in economy.
You can select also green airports: while you may not always have a choice on which airport you fly into, it’s worth taking a look through eco-conscious airports.
The more weight on a plane, the more fuel consumption that is required, and the more carbon emitted—reduce your footprint by learning to pack like a minimalist.
Others simple tips
Check if there’s a way to get to the airport by public transit before reserving or driving a car.
Then you can bring an empty reusable water bottle to fill up at the water fountains in the airport. Bring also your own snacks in reusable containers to avoid buying packaged products.
Charge your devices beforehand because charging on the plane requires extra energy.
At the end, use an e-ticket on your phone instead of printing it out.
